Pollock Bench Trailhead
Pollock trail is a 6 5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near loma colorado that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate.

The trail climbs an old jeep road to an inclined mesa top where it descends to a bench that looks over the east fork of pollock canyon.
Within a mile the trail splits between pollock canyon which you ll want to avoid and flume canyon. The pollock bench trailhead is at the end of this road roughly 3 miles from the entrance sign. There is plenty of parking for vehicles and horse trailers.
Trail itself is a designated trail and well marked. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from march until october. Starting from the pollock bench trailhead follow signage for the trail pollock bench trail p1 as it climbs up out of the parking lot.
The pollock bench area gets a lot of equestrian use. After the short steep climb out stay left at the next junction to avoid the horse cut off that goes back to the rim and then enjoy the smooth trail as it winds across the mesa top through grasses and cacti. The pollock bench trailhead is the last trailhead you come to as you drive in on the kings view horsethief road.
Back at the first junction of the day stay left to head back to the parking lot. Within a mile the trail splits between pollock canyon which you ll want to avoid and flume canyon. At the top of the next climb you ll reach a junction with the flume canyon trail network.
Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. The pollock bench loop trail is a moderate 7 mi rt hike that follows the rim of the pollock bench a land feature that overlooks two canyons in the black ridge wilderness area. The pollock bench trailhead is located at a parking area about 3 5 miles on your left just at the bottom of a small wash.
